The Challenge: Ending the Cycle of Flat Roof Repairs
The homeowner was experiencing persistent water penetration through a flat bay window roof. Despite multiple repairs over the years, the standing water continued to bypass the seals, causing internal damage and frustration. The customer decided it was time for a permanent, structural solution that would eliminate the flat roof issues forever.
The Transformation Strategy
Structural Conversion: We removed the failing flat roofing material and engineered a new timber pitched frame over the bay window. A pitched roof naturally sheds water far more effectively than a flat surface, removing the risk of “pooling” water.
Aesthetic Integration: To ensure the new structure looked like an original feature of the home, we sourced and installed matching roof tiles that perfectly mirrored the main house roof. This seamless integration is a hallmark of Eagle Roofing’s attention to detail.
Modern Roofline Upgrades: To finish the conversion, we installed new UPVC fascias and soffits. This not only “smartened up” the property’s exterior but also provided a maintenance-free finish that will never require painting or treatment.
Superior Drainage: By changing the pitch, we were able to optimize the rainwater runoff, directing it into a new, high-capacity guttering system that protects the bay window masonry below.
The Result
A high-performance, aesthetically pleasing transformation. The homeowner no longer has to worry about recurring leaks, and the property has benefited from a significant boost in curb appeal. By converting to a pitched roof, we have provided a “fix-it-once-and-forget-it” solution.
