The customer had signs of damp on the chimney breast in the attic. After inspecting the chimney it was visible that the stonework had become porous.
To rectify this we used a chimney cream called storm dry. This is far better than any other water proofer on the market. It’s absorbed by the stone and lasts for 25 years! We also added a ventilation cowl to the chimney pot to stop down draft and water going down the chimney pot.
